I recently upgraded the Yeshua-Messiah.com website design to utilize the buddypress architecture over top of the wordpress architecture. I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised at how easy it was to integrate the two together. What I am not too happy about is the lack of editablity on the child theme that is used for the buddypress. Either way it is a great addition that I am looking forward to using more...
