TV Infomercial Production Company
I get asked alot about what goes into making a TV infomercial. What does it take to produce that perfect commercial that will sell my product. The answer I usually give comes in a series of qualifying questions. These are based on “your” perfect infomercial’s needs.
Infomercial and Commercial pre-qualifying questions
1. Ask yourself what it is that your infomercial is supposed to be doing. What is its purpose as an infomercial. If it only to promote awareness that is one thing. If it is to try and sell a product that is something else.
2. Once your purpose is clearly identified you need to next figure out who your target audience is. Once this clearly defined you will better know the direction that you need to take when scripting and visualizing your infomercial or commercial.
3. What is your budget. Its a good idea to go ahead and initially pretend that you have no budget. This way you get the best chance of coming up with the great ideas. If you come up with something that is obviously too expensive, try and think of a way to do it for free and then meet in the middle somewhere. Knowing your budget is the real key in this instance.
4. The other main thing that I always tell people is to come up with three main ideas. “IF” and only “IF” you can budget it and not have to skimp too much on the others, try to film atleast two if not all three of your ideas. This way you can do A-B or A-B-C testing for their effectiveness. It may turn out that your B or C idea infomercial or commercial was really the best one all along.
If I had to tell people any one other thing about infomercials it would be to contact a professional Infomercial and commercial company like Sturgill Studios to help guide them in the DRTV and infomercial world.
